How Makayla Took Her Life:
She passed away on February 11, 2021, by committing suicide just five days earlier than her thirteenth birthday at her home in Broken Arrow. This suicide is a tragedy that not only impacts her town and nation but her family especially. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ronald and Shauna Thomas; great uncle, Donald Gibbs, and great-great-grandmother, Jessie Gibbs.
Many elements can boost the risk of suicide or guard against it. Suicide is bonded to other forms of injury and violence. For example, people who have encountered violence, including child abuse, bullying, or sexual harassment have a higher suicide ratio. We can reduce suicidal attempts by being conjoined to family and friends and having simple access to healthcare.

Makayla Brewster was an intelligent and bright girl. According to her mother Makayla Brewster was a lover of skateboarding, volleyball, and TikTok. Report on Makayla Brewster by Fox23 News.
Her mother posted her thoughts on one of the Facebook post, her words were
It is hard knowing that life HAS to go on after loss.
After your first born dies.
After some bitch ass unkind kids TOLD your daughter to Kill herself!
After your child CHOSE to die because she felt like she wasn’t enough.
After finding my daughter dead.
With a Rope around her neck about an hour too late.
After hearing “They tried all they could- but…”
After being told it would be treated like a homicide & then they went they her phone only to find that there was someone guilty that they needed to protect.
After the BAPD WIPED her phone & school laptop to cover ‘the boy’ …& the girl who made sure Makayla followed thru with it. )
After the parents of ‘the boy’ made it known to a few people what their son told Makayla to KHS & then made sure his texts to her were deleted.
After the (poor excuse of a) lawyer I had for a whole year hyped up the whole “justice” scenario & then flaked out three days before one year mark. (Gonna name her SOON)
I am right there —> !
I am this Close to pointing fingers & calling names …out load!
Seeing my surviving daughter so angry & detached while trying to enjoy Christmas lights but having the memory of being there with her big sissy taint it so she can’t let herself enjoy is heartbreaking and upsetting to parents.
Holidays are hard
Days that end in ‘Y’ are even harder.
Be kind in front of your kids.
Teach your spawns to be kind.
